The Link

Sites scattered throughout the metro, including in Shakopee

The Link is a Minneapolis based 501©(3) nonprofit organization with over 20 years of experience working with at-risk youth.  The Link has three program areas we refer to as “divisions.”  Our divisions, Housing and Homeless, Juvenile Justice and Safe Harbor provide front end prevention and supportive services to youth who are at risk of (or are currently experiencing) homelessness, dropping out of school, sexual exploitation and involvement in the criminal justice system.  The Link prides itself on its innovative, trauma informed, strength-based programming for youth.

Frequency varies, many opportunities available.

Point In Time (PIT) Count

Throughout Scott and Carver Counties

Assist a committee of workers in counting homeless families and individuals on a particular day in January each year.   Volunteers are needed to help reach out to local businesses to see if they identified anyone as homeless, to help conduct survey’s with the homeless, and to help enter survey data into an online database.

Over the course of 2 months each year leading up to the day of the count in the end of January.  Volunteers can help on the committee or they can just help over the course of the week of the count.
